 One of Chadron's most popular landmarks, The Favorite Bar, is located
in the heart of downtown Chadron at 155 Main St in the middle of Chadron's
nightlife. The "Fave" as many locals call it, was opened in 1894
as a bar and originally had sawdust floors and a "Hitchin Post" out
front. Nowadays the Fave has tile floors and parking places out front.
But, don’t let that fool you, The Fave has had many a wild nights!
The Fave is a commonplace for many hardworking professionals that do many
of the blue collar jobs in and around Chadron. You could practically build
anything you want just by contracting some of the Fave's customers who
are there usually after the work is done and taking a load off.
The Fave
is complimented by a outstanding bar staff who are some of the friendliest
people to meet and talk to. The Fave is Managed by Dodi Meints and Owned
by K.C. Chasek. The Favorite Bar was purchased in 1997 by Gary Chasek and
K.C. Chasek. Anyone who new Gary knew they had a friend. Gary passed in
February of 2004 and will be greatly missed, but many of his traditions
and friends are still present at the Fave.
